Shapeshifting dynamic transitions

Shape Shifter is a dynamic title layer transitions tool for Final Cut Pro. Use shapes as masks to create unique, smooth, and warped transitions.  It comes with over 30 pre-loaded shapes with an option to add text or your own custom image to any of the templates! Plus, the in and out animations come with some impressive effect controls.

CHOOSE A DIRECTION

Each template is organized as a direction first. Whether you want it to simply do a horizontal wipe or a more interesting rotation animation, simply choose any animation and just drag and drop it onto anything on your timeline. Each transition is paired with a BEGIN and END layer. The BEGIN layer indicates where the transition begins (or at the end of a clip) and the END layer indicates where the transition ends (or at the beginning of the next clip following the BEGIN layer). Also, you can be creative and place a BEGIN and END transition in the middle of your footage if you want.

CHOOSE A SHAPE

Each direction template has a dropdown menu where you can choose any of the pre-loaded shapes. You can also mix and match shapes so that an incoming shape changes to a different shape on the outgoing transition.

CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS

Each template comes with the same parameters. You can change the amount of travel, scale animation, motion blur, prism blur, make changes to any transform parameter, and add your own text or custom image. It also comes with a handy “Rotate” checkbox to give the image more animation as the transition takes place. You can also move the shape to any position in the frame by using the on-screen position control. Make the shape image as big or as small as you want and it will give it more character as you wish to custom the shape even more.

By utilizing title layers to create the transition animations, you have a great ease of use, it’s faster, and you can easily place the transitioning effect wherever you want; under a title, over a title, include or don’t include certain graphics to be transitioned…your creativity has no limit!

ASPECT RATIOS

Shape Shifter has been created to work with the following aspect ratios: 1:1, 9:16, 16:9, and 21:9. This gives you the ability to use Shape Shifter for vertical ads or TikTok videos, square spaces like Instagram, the standard 16:9 ratio, and the super-wide format of 21:9!
