Includes Free Laubwerk Player
The Laubwerk Player is a plugin for Autodesk 3ds Max & Maya, Maxon Cinema 4D, or Trimble SketchUp that comes bundled with every Laubwerk Plant Kit. It loads the models and allows for easy selection and manipulation of the models, e.g. choose between variations, ages and seasons and allows fine grained control about Level of Detail.
Just drag-and-drop your 3D tree, set the shape, age, and season and level of detail control. Watch the lightning fast rendering with inbuilt and 3rd party renderer support.
Plant Library Browser
The Plant Library Browser appears right in the 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, or SketchUp main menu and provides direct access to the Laubwerk Plants installed on your computer. Drag-and-drop your 3D tree species into your scene or replace existing trees. Loading the plants through the Plant Library Browser directly creates materials with basic shading and textures preassigned, saving you time and memory while you work.
Plant Object
The Plant Object represents a Laubwerk plant model in your scene by using low-memory hull or skeleton mode for easy placement. It dynamically loads the model’s age and shape that you chose, creating a simple viewport approximation that allows you to apply model alterations and adjust level of detail settings. Laubwerk Plant Objects are fully scriptable using MaxScript.
V-Ray Support
Dedicated support of V-Ray saves you time and memory. Instead of manually converting Laubwerk Plant Objects into V-Ray proxies, the Plant Object detects when V-Ray is used for rendering and dynamically creates the model’s geometry during rendering. This is the exact same process V-Ray uses for V-Ray proxies, just automatically applied without any manual setup.
Renderer Support
Materials and textures are created on the fly – for the built-in renderer or third-party renderers.
- For 3ds Max, Maya, and Cinema 4D: mental ray, iray, Maxwell Render, Thea Render, Arnold, RedShift, OctaneRender, and Corona Renderer.
- For SketchUp: V-Ray for SketchUp and Thea Render for SketchUp.
Laubwerk Advantage
- Plug and Play – One-click solution for architects and CG artists who need realistic 3D trees, immediately.

Description
Laubwerk Plant Kit 22 – Temperate Ornamental Perennials
The following ten temperate flowering ornamental species and cultivars are included in Plant Kit 22. Each species or cultivar comes in three variations, in one season (full bloom), for a total of thirty models per kit. Note that this is a pre-release edition of Kit 22 with only one season. It is therefore offered at a reduced price.
Common Bugle ‘Elmblut’
Ajuga reptans ‘Elmblut’
An undemanding, hardy, wintergreen, densely growing perennial with reddish-brown, glossy, oval-round leaves, some of which show shades of green. Simple, violet-blue flowers appear from late spring to early summer, arranged in upright spikes that are especially attractive to bees and bumblebees. Flowering is followed by inconspicuous nut fruits. Forms above-ground stolons, through which it spreads and forms a dense carpet.
Lily Of The Valley
Convallaria majalis
A herbaceous perennial with dark green, lance-shaped leaves that are slightly shiny on top and grow in pairs. The intensely fragrant, white, short-stemmed bell flowers appear in late spring to early summer as a single-sided raceme. The flowers are followed by small, red berries beginning in July. Over time, the plant forms carpet-like stands through rhizomes. At the end of the growing season, the perennial completely retracts. All parts of the plant are poisonous. The species name “majalis” refers to the flowering period which typically takes place in May.
Foxglove ‘Dalmatian White’
Digitalis purpurea ‘Dalmatian White’
A semi-evergreen biennial or short-lived perennial with dark green, lanceolate leaves forming a basal rosette. Upright spikes of white flowers with purple-speckled throats are borne in early to mid summer, sometimes from their first year. All parts of the plant are poisonous. Its flowers are very attractive to bees and other insects.
Oriental Leopard’s-bane
Doronicum orientale
A slowly spreading rhizomatous perennial with elliptic, gently scalloped basal leaves, which remain dark green in color throughout the season. It grows in a mounded form. Lemon-yellow daisy-like flowers at the ends of the stems appear in late spring before the plant goes summer dormant. The flowers are attractive to wildlife like bees and butterflies and suitable for cutting.
Japanese Anemone ‘Bressingham Glow’
Eriocapitella japonica ‘Bressingham Glow’
A late-flowering, well-branched, delicate herbaceous perennial with a slightly vase-shaped growth habit, growing to about 80cm in height. The three lobed, medium green colored leaves are covered in fine hairs. From August to September it features halb double flowers with dusty rose petals and a yellow center. The flowers attract bees and other insects and are suitable for cut flowers. Alan Bloom named and introduced this variety in 1968.
Spindle ‘Emerald Gaiety’
Euonymus fortunei ‘Emerald Gaiety’
A densely branched, erect, slow-growing broadleaf evergreen shrub with a compact rounded habit. The foliage consists of rounded to ovate, glossy, dark emerald-green leaves with irregular white margins. They can get a pink tinge in winter. A few inconspicuous, small greenish-white flowers appear in spring and early summer. The green seed capsules open to bright red colored berries, which are a food source to wildlife and birds. Once matured, the plant is drought resistant. Mildly toxic in all parts.
Meadow Geranium ‘Hocus Pocus’
Geranium pratense ‘Hocus Pocus’
A compact, upright growing herbaceous perennial with a typical height of 40cm. Its red to brown tinted basal formed leaves are finely haired and make for a beautiful contrast in garden plantings. The flowering time is relatively long, from June to September pale purple flowers with light veins and eye decorate the red tinted stalks.
Nelkenwurz ‘Fiery Tempest’
Geum ‘Fiery Tempest’
A deciduous to semi-evergreen perennial with a mound-forming growth habit. Pinnate, basal leaves of medium to dark green color with a finely haired surface grow on wiry, slender stems. From late spring to summer this variety features semi double flowers of bright scarlet color.
Coral Bells ‘Black Beauty’
Heuchera micrantha ‘Black Beauty’
‘Black Beauty’ is a clump-forming coral bells hybrid cultivar that features shiny, deep maroon leaves with undulate margins and conspicuous but not overly showy whitish flowers. The rounded, lobed, long-petioled leaves form a basal mound (to 10” tall) which may spread to 16” wide. Tiny, whitish flowers borne in open, airy panicles appear in late spring to early summer on slender, wiry stems rising well above the foliage mound, typically to 20-24” tall.
August-lily ‘Guacamole’
Hosta plantaginea ‘Guacamole’
The fragrant lavender-white flowers of Hosta ‘Guacamole’ appear above apple-green leaves with dark green margins. The center of the leaves turn gold in summer. 2002 Hosta of the Year, a Bob Solberg introduction.
