In the tutorial, he uses an nxQuestion rig to spawn particles, the number of spawned particles correlates to the number of neighbor particles. He adds a second neighbor spawning question, creating a self-feeding system, which grows networks of spawned particles. A third nxQuestion prevents particles from escaping the object volume. Finally, he adds other NeXus modifiers to create a gorgeous, deceptively simple animation!
