In Depth: Audio Software & Plugins Glossary of Terms & Acronyms https://www.toolfarm.com/tutorial/in_depth_audio_plugin_formats/ Mon, 15 May 2023 16:59:04 +0000 https://toolfarm.local/?p=11476 Check out our in depth guide to the terms & acronyms for formats and more that you'll see with audio plugins, useful for anyone new to audio.

The post In Depth: Audio Software & Plugins Glossary of Terms & Acronyms appeared first on .

]]>
The vast array of audio plugins and software available is mind-blowing, and they come with all sorts of formats and requirements with terms and acronyms that you may not be familiar with, especially if you mainly work with video or if you’re new to audio. Below, we’re breaking these terms down for you.

Audio Plugins & Software Acronyms & Terms Glossary

AAX

AAX, Avid Audio eXtension, is the exclusive Avid format and is natively supported since Pro Tools 11 (2013).

ARA / ARA2

Developed by Presounus and Celemony Software in 2011, ARA, Audio Random Access, is an Audio Extension that allows plugins to exchange more information with the DAW and make the workflow faster and more seamless.[3]

Most of the popular DAWs are compatible with ARA 2, the second generation, including Apple Logic Pro, Steinberg Cubase and Nuendo, Avid ProTools, Magix Acid Pro, Samplitude Pro, and PreSonus Studio One. Plugins with ARA support or requirements include Melodyne, Antares Auto-Tune, VocAlign, Revoice Pro, Audio-Align Post 2, and iZotope RX.

ASIO Driver

ASIO, or Audio Stream Input/Output, is a sound card driver protocol mainly on Windows. Some plugins, such as Melodyne Editor, may require ASIO-compatible audio hardware on Windows.

AU

Audio Units, or AU, is Apple’s proprietary audio format that is part of the Core Audio architecture of the macOS. AU was developed for Logic and Garage Band, but other DAWs also use it on Mac.

CLAP

CLAP (CLever Audio Plug-in) is a new open extendable format under development by u-he and Bitwig Studio. This format supports fast plugin scanning and MIDI 2.0 protocol, unlike VST3. CLAP is said to take multi-thread management to a new level.[2]

Learn more about CLAP Audio Format

Core Audio

Core Audio is the digital audio driver of Mac iOS and OS X, and it supports audio plugins. More about Core Audio.

DAW

A DAW, Digital Audio Workstation, is your audio host application. Examples include ProTools, PreSonus Studio One, Reason Studios Reason

DSP

You may see AAX DSP listed in the system requirements of a plugin. DSP-based plugins rely on DSP chips, or Digital Signal Processor chips, which are third-party cards, which can get pretty expensive.[5] Plugins for DSP-based systems are also more expensive, however, users love the quality. If you have a DSP system, Native plugins still work. Some systems even allow users to switch back and forth between the DSP and Native versions of the same plugin.

iLok

iLok is a license management system for audio plug-ins. It allows users to move their licenses between computers. Not to mention, it protects your audio software from piracy. It uses a USB device, aka dongle, or the iLok cloud. Companies that use iLok are moving to iLok Cloud since most new computers do not have USB ports.

MIDI

MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. Developers create DAWs like Reason to work with MIDI keyboards, drum pads, and other MIDI controllers.[4] MIDI 2.0 is the current version. More about MIDI.

Native plugins

You may see AAX Native listed in the system requirements of a plugin. Native Plugins work with the computer’s CPU. In other words, they do not require any special dedicated hardware, such as DSP chips. Native plugins are mainly programmed with C++. This makes them usable over multiple platforms. There are a lot of native plugins on the market and are available for free. The downside: If you have a lot of plugins running at once, like with any NLE, your computer will start to slow down, and may grind to a halt.

RTAS

Real-Time AudioSuite, or RTAS, is a format used by Avid. RTAS is an obsolete format but you still may see it listed on some system requirements for older plugins, or Pro Tools versions 10.38 or before.[6]

TDM

TDM, Time-division Multiplexing, is a DSP-only format. Note: Obsolete and replaced by AAX DSP.

VST

Steinberg originally created VST or Virtual Studio Technology. The plugins come in three types: VST Instruments, VST effects, and VST MIDI effects. VST3, the only version currently supported, has many perks over the previous versions. It consumes fewer CPU resources, handles MIDI data extremely well, and has multi-lingual support.[1] It’s worth mentioning, VST and VST2 plugins are being depreciated by many plugin developers and replaced by VST3

While VST is the most widely supported audio format, ProTools and Logic do not support VST plugins, as they use their own proprietary formats.

Updated! This article was originally published in 2015. We fully cleaned it up and updated it in August 2022 with new tools and new tutorials.

What are Letterboxing, Pillarboxing, and Windowboxing?

Letterboxing is a very simple way to help your footage look more cinematic, and it seems like a simple concept, but you can’t just go slapping black bars in any way you like. You have to do it right! First, we’ll take a look at a few quick examples of the types of black bars you can add to footage, then a bit about aspect ratio. Finally, we’ll end with some plug-ins and scripts to make adding a letterbox fast and easy, no matter your NLE. It’s also commonly known as Cinematic Bars.

First, let’s get some terminology out of the way and explain what letterboxing and the others are all about.

Types of Letterboxes

The Standard Letterbox

letterbox

Preserving a film’s original widescreen aspect ratio when a film is transferred to standard definition video with black bars on the top and bottom of the video.

Pillarbox

pillarbox

Standard-width videos and bars on the left and the right. Often used stylistically in a widescreen presentation to give the idea that the media being shown is older, for example, old 8mm film or old television broadcasts.

Windowbox

windowbox

Another variation, windowboxing, is when black bars are seen on each side of the video.

Let’s talk about Aspect Ratio

By placing letterboxes or window box bars on your film, you’re really modifying the aspect ratio of the viewable image.

Plugins and Scripts for Letterboxing to your Footage

If you’ve been using your software for more than a few days, it’s very likely that you already know how to mask the video or add solids on each side.

After all, why do you use plugins and templates? Because it’s fast and easy, and time is money when you’re billing clients and making deadlines.

Burning Question: What in the heck is OFX? Updated #OFX #openfx https://www.toolfarm.com/tutorial/burning_questions_what_in_the_heck_is_openfx/ Tue, 08 Mar 2022 16:43:16 +0000 https://toolfarm.local/?p=13151 OpenFX, or OFX, plugins are exploding on the market with hosts like DaVinci Resolve, Vegas, Flame, Baselight, and others. The post Burning Question: What in the heck is OFX? Updated #OFX #openfx appeared first on .

]]>
OpenFX, or OFX, is a standardized software interface between the host and plug-ins for visual effects, editing, compositing, and finishing. It is now widely used for visual effects and video processing and is supported by numerous hosts such as Assimilate, Blackmagic Design, Digital Anarchy, FXHOME, NewBlueFX, RE:Vision Effects, and more.

Where did OFX come from and why?

The OFX API was established because each developer had its own proprietary interface, so developers at different companies couldn’t work together share code very easily. Developers had to create their own method of porting their plug-ins into each host, which, as you can imagine, can be expensive and time-consuming.

Bruno Nicoletti of The Foundry got things going in 2004. Some of the founding members were from Assimilate, Autodesk, Digieffects, FilmLight, The Foundry, GenArts, and RE:Vision Effects. OFX was transferred to The Open Effects Association (OFX) in 2009.

The OFX are proponents for open standards between developers of visual effects tools for supporting a broad range of platform-neutral hosts. The focus of the group is:

 • to improve image processing
 • lessen development costs
 • shorten development time
 • reduce product support that comes along with supporting multiple compositing tools and NLE’s

If you’re a developer, join the Association and get access to early releases and help shape future versions of the standard. OpenFX members collaborate with their peers to the developer and extend the OFX API, a BSD open source license.

Updates to OFX NEW

v1.5UpcomingSignificant additions include the OfxDrawSuite for drawing overlays without requiring OpenGL.

The information comes from the release notes page on GitHub.

Hosts that Support OFX Standard

If you use any of the hosts below, plug-ins that you use may support the OFX standard.

Let me first stress the point that if a plug-in is OFX, it does NOT mean that it supports all the hosts listed below. It just means that the following hosts support the OFX standard.

OFX is a standardized software interface for developing plug-ins that support multiple hosts. OFX is NOT a host or host platform.

How to Smash the Learning Curve to Learn Software Faster https://www.toolfarm.com/tutorial/learn-software-faster/ Mon, 31 Jan 2022 15:52:56 +0000 https://www.toolfarm.com/?post_type=tutorial&p=75776 Have you been wanting to learn new software but don't know where to start? Don't have the time? Well, I'm here to help you make it happen.

The post How to Smash the Learning Curve to Learn Software Faster appeared first on .

]]>
Have you been wanting to learn a new software program but don’t know where to start? Don’t think you have the time? Well, I’m here to help you make it happen. Whether you want to learn After Effects, Cinema 4D, DaVinci Resolve, a music program, or any creative software, the same process applies.

I may be an expert on the topic of learning new software or learning in general. Over the years I have dabbled in so many different software to learn them and I’ll be honest, the only two I have really felt like I have a solid knowledge of are Adobe After Effects and Photoshop. I have a basic understanding of Cinema 4D, Maya, Modo, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Illustrator, Resolve Studio, and Nuke. I’ve even learned Dreamweaver, Director, and Flash (I hated Flash!), as well as this DVD authoring software that you’ve likely never heard of. And Commotion. Remember Commotion?

Yes, that’s a big list of tools, but I’ve been at this game for a while. I’ve picked up some learning habits along the way. I use these habits for other things as well: language learning, meditation, and yoga practice, etc.

An expert is someone who, over many years, manages to remain confident enough to keep trying and humble enough to keep learning.

James Clear

Why do you want to learn this software?

• Do you want a better job?
• Do you have a vision you want to bring to life?
• What is your end goal?

These are very important questions to help you determine the right path to achieving your objectives. Knowing WHY you want to learn software will help you figure out WHAT you need to learn to achieve your goal.

For example, let’s say you want to learn Cinema 4D. It’s a massive program. If you want to learn to model characters for a short film you have an idea for, you’ll want to focus your learning on modeling and rigging. Maybe your clients are asking for 3D animated titles, so character rigging isn’t even on your list. Or, what if you want to get a job in the VFX industry in Hollywood, creating visual effects? All of these things can be done in Cinema 4D, however, your path to learning VFX is very different from someone who wants to create some 3D animated titles for a corporate client.

Goals help you focus on what you really want to learn. Believe me, it’s easy to follow a training routine and end up spending hours learning something that is really of no use to you. So, be specific and clear when you name your goals.

Goals also hold you accountable and keep you from getting bored and procrastinating. We’ll talk more about that later but just remember, hazy goals create hazy results.

Yes, this seems really easy but when you’re looking at training options, make sure that it meets your criteria.

Free and Discounted Software for Learning

Some companies have a 30-day trial, which isn’t much time to learn the software. Many software companies offer student versions or Personal Learning Editions (PLE) of their software to those who qualify. Below, read a list of some products that have PLEs. It goes without saying that these licenses are for learning only and not for client work.

If you want to earn more, learn more.

Zig Ziglar

Understand the two stages of learning software.

Like learning anything, such as a language, there are two stages to learning it. That language article directly correlates to learning software or anything you want to learn, and I highly recommend reading it. Knowing this is key to hacking that learning curve.

 1. Learn the foundations of the program. Learn the user interface, the terminology of the software, how to get around in the program, common keyboard shortcuts, etc.
 2. Building on that foundation to be competent in the software. This is the point where you feel comfortable in figuring things out for yourself.

Stage one is the most difficult and boring. It’s where people will often become discouraged because they want to create things that are too complex for what they know, so they just quit. Just know that this period is short if you stick with it. Make sure your expectations are realistic and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Learning takes time.

You know you’ve arrived at stage two when you run into problems and you are able to solve them on your own, without looking to YouTube or the manual. When you reach this point, go to YouTube and try some of those more complex tutorials.

Choose a project to work on that you are excited about

This will make learning fun and give you a goal right out of the gate so you can put your knowledge into action.

For example, I want to learn Adobe Character Animator. I have a file full of script ideas for shorts and for longer scripts. Not only that, I’ve been wanting to learn how to draw. This would be a perfect opportunity for me to write some short scripts that I can animate to. I can combine learning to draw, learning to animate in Character Animator, and finally getting my script ideas out of my Notes on my phone.

What would you like to create?

Get a plan together and get organized

You wouldn’t go on your road trip without a map, would you? This is not an easy part and a lot of people fail to set a clear plan for themselves. Without a clear plan, you will not stay on track.

Whatever plan you choose, make sure it covers what you want to learn. Of course, you may not know exactly what you want to learn yet, and that’s fine, but you should at least have a rough idea when you look at the curriculum.

Figure out which training and resources you will use to learn.

eLearning vs. One-on-One Training

Both have their pros and cons.

eLearning

Pros
 • Generally less expensive
 • Lots of options, depending on what you want to learn. LinkedIn Learning, PluralSight, or Total Training are all good options, but there are others too.
 • Free trials to try them out and no commitment.
Cons
 • You will likely have to figure out your own learning path for what you want to learn.

One-on-One Training

Pros
 • More accountability because you need to show up
 • You get questions answered by a person
 • More personal. Your trainer can set up the path for what you want to learn.
Cons
 • Likely more difficult to find an instructor
 • More expensive
 • Your training is only as good as the instructor

You are not married to the plan. Whatever you choose, you can change over time if you find that you don’t like the training, or you learn of something better for your needs. It’s a map to get your learning on its way. The key here is to just get started.

 • Ask around. Get recommendations from people who have used the training.
 • Use a free trial and try them out. How do you like the trainer’s style? Are they teaching what you want to learn?

So, what about YouTube?

YouTube incorporates fantastic tutorials from very talented professionals, but from my experience, it’s a giant rabbit hole. For example, you see a video from a pro user and you love their final result. You watch the tutorial and try to follow along but they skim over a basic skill that you haven’t yet acquired. Then you have to look up how to do that thing that they skimmed over, throwing you off track of learning and wasting your time. YouTube can be a distraction machine, so I don’t recommend it for Stage 1 of learning software (unless, it’s a great series, like the Free Training: DaVinci Resolve 17 Video Series)

That said, if you’re in Stage 2 of learning, by all means, go to YouTube and have fun!

Create a routine by scheduling your learning, and set deadlines

To stay on track, schedule your learning at the same time every day or every week. If you are learning something for work, ask your boss or your team if you can spend three hours every Monday learning your software, for example. Then put it in the calendar so you will do it.

Timebox. Set a smaller window of time for learning, you’re less likely to procrastinate. To illustrate, wide-open 8 hours will not be nearly as effective as a focused 90 minutes. Learn more about timeboxing.

“Chunk up” your learning.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and you can’t expect yourself to learn a gigantic program like Cinema 4D or After Effects in only a few weeks. Instead, focus on small achievable goals each week.

How? Chunk up your training for higher retention. Science says that learning speed has a direct correlation with retention. In other words, focus on one thing at a time and build upon each thing you learn. Yes, this takes time but learning slowly will help you to work quickly later on.

For effective chunk learning, timebox and set short term goals.

 • Set short term goals but be flexible. Set a goal of an hour, for example, as opposed to “learn to do xyz by 4:00pm”. You don’t know how long something will actually take to learn. I like to set my goals by time, not by topic. I can’t expect myself to learn everything about UV mapping in 2 hours, but I can spend 2 hours learning it, and maybe another 2 hours practicing it until I feel comfortable, and then move on to the next topic.

Take notes by hand, not on a computer or a notepad app on your phone.

Yes, I am telling you to take notes longhand. You could do this digitally but science has proven that taking notes by hand gives a deeper understanding of the content. It has to do with the hand-brain connection.

Consider a Bullet Journal Dedicated to your Software Learning

If you haven’t heard of a Bullet Journal, it’s a system for organizing and tracking a project or even your life. People use them for planning a garden, learning a language, or tracking fitness goals. Software engineers use them to track development on their software. It’s also incredibly useful for learning software. If you google Bullet Journal, often affectionally called a BuJo by afficiandos, you’ll find pages with gorgeous intricate sketches and color-coded habit trackers. While this is fun and beautiful to look at, the goal is to organize and track software learning.

All you need to get started is a new notebook or a blank book and a pen or pencil.

On the first page, write your goal. Number your pages. In the front of the book, set up an index page so that you can find your notes quickly. Then you set up pages to help you stay on track. For example:

 • your learning path
 • your short-term goals
 • keyboard shortcuts you’ve learned
 • daily logs of what you learned
 • ideas or even sketches of projects
 • brain dump pages
 • a calendar or schedule for learning. This could include things like webinars that you don’t want to miss.
 • Keep track of the time spent learning with a habit tracker. This is extremely important to keeping you on track and for recognizing how much time you’ve spent learning.
 • Set up a future log for future goals. These are set aside until you’re ready for them.

A few more quick tips for learning quickly

Take breaks while learning.

On those breaks, stretch, take a walk or just move. You can’t spend too much time watching training or sitting in front of the screen because you will, at some point, stop retaining important information. Clear your head so you can quickly get back to learning.

Get out of your comfort zone.

Once you’re in the second stage of learning, when you’re comfortable with it, try something that is more difficult than you are used to. Share your projects on social media (but be prepared for trolls). Ask peers questions on forums.

… but have your expectations in line with reality.

You are just learning. Your renders are not going to look like the work of someone who has been using the software for years and uses it 10 hours a day to make a living. When you compare your work to other artists’ work, you’re only poking holes in your self-esteem. By all means, look to others’ work for inspiration, but don’t get caught in the trap of comparison. It will only make you feel inadequate and you will likely quit.

Pros are just amateurs who learned from their mistakes.

James Clear

Just start.

Grab a notebook and jot down some ideas. Check out some training at LinkedIn or other places. This software isn’t going to learn itself!

Stay focused, go after your dreams and keep moving toward your goals.

The scenario for this series of articles is that you have less than perfect greenscreen footage. f your footage is crummy (i.e.: noisy, not properly lit, not properly shot, badly planned), no amount of post-production will make it look good. “Garbage in, garbage out”, as they say. This series of articles will focus on problems that you’ll run into with less than stellar footage. This is not so much a “how-to key” article and I may not go in order as far as workflow, but I will talk about some issues you may run into in the post-production process.

Burning Question: How Do I Edit and Export with My NLE for TikTok? https://www.toolfarm.com/tutorial/burning-question-how-do-i-edit-and-export-with-my-nle-for-tiktok/ Thu, 21 May 2020 14:08:10 +0000 https://www.toolfarm.com/?post_type=tutorial&p=47083 Learn about how to edit and export for TikTok with your pro video tools. We're featuring Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, Vegas Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.

The post Burning Question: How Do I Edit and Export with My NLE for TikTok? appeared first on .

]]>
TikTok is the short video social media app du jour so we’ll talk about how to edit and export with your pro video tools with TikTok distribution. Below, we’ll share a couple of videos for Premiere Pro users, then tutorials for Final Cut Pro, Vegas Pro, and DaVinci Resolve. But first, basic TikTok requirements.

TikTok Basic Video Requirements

Resolution: 1080×1920 at the largest. This is a vertical video, as TikTok is a mobile app.

Aspect Ratio: 9:16. 1:1 also works but it will not fill the screen.

Frame Rate: 60fps

File types: mp4, .mov, .mpeg, (.3gp, .gif or .avi also work for advertising).

Video codec: H.264 encoded

Duration: 9-15 seconds is suggested. The minimum is 5 seconds. You can upload up to 60 seconds if you string four 15 secondTikTok videos together.

Video File Size: 287.6 MB maximum for iOS. 72 MB maximum for Andriod
Useful tips:

 • TikTok likes vertical video. If you’re old school, like me, you will be cringing at that thought, but you’ll get used to it.
 • Center your content because the edges of your video can be obscured. There is a 150px margin on top and bottom, as well as a 64px margin along the left and right sides.

It should be mentioned that this information tends to change as the apps are updated, but at the time of the publication of this article, it’s accurate.

RE:Vision Effects Twixtor, ReelSmart Motion Blur, and RE:Match offer Regular and Pro versions of the software, so how do you know which version you need? There are two main areas: Host support and features. Let us break it down.

More Host Support in RE:Vision Effects Pro Version

The Pro Versions mainly add OFX support for products like Baselight, Silhouette, and Scratch, but one also adds Avid support, so make sure you understand the system requirements for each version.

More Features in Pro Versions

While the regular version is robust and may work great for the majority of your projects, the Pro version does add a few features.

ReelSmart Motion Blur

The Pro version also includes: RSMB Pro Vectors is a separate effect included with RSMB Pro. It gives users the ability to blur with motion vectors supplied by you… which, most likely, will come from your 3D animation system. This is an older video but it compares it a bit.

ReelSmart Motion Blur Pro has all of the features of the ReelSmart Motion Blur Regular version but also includes these features:

 • Object Separation – Support for foreground and background separation using a specified matte. ReelSmart Motion Blur then uses proprietary filling and tracking techniques when working on the background layer, even when it is obscured by the foreground! (Not available with Catalyst Edit, DaVinci Resolve, Flame, Smoke, Media Composer, Movie Studio, Nucoda, Vegas Pro)
 • 3D Motion Vector Input – Ability to blur with motion vectors supplied by you… which, most likely, will come from your 3D animation system. (Not available with Catalyst Edit, DaVinci Resolve, Media Composer, Movie Studio, Nucoda, Vegas Pro)
 • RGB+A Tracking – An option that uses the alpha channel to help to track dark images with mattes. This is especially useful for CG, masked, and/or keyed material. (Not available with Media Composer)
 • Track Point Guidance – Up to 12 user-defined points can be specified to help guide RSMB’s motion estimation. By using the tracking points you can explicitly tell RSMB where a pixel moves from one frame to the next in order to guide RSMB’s calculation of motion vectors. (Not available with Catalyst Edit, DaVinci Resolve, Flame, Smoke, Media Composer, Movie Studio, Nucoda, Vegas Pro)
 • Spline Guidance – When RSMB exhibits tracking problems, you can guide RSMB by simply creating and animating shapes to show where objects are actually moving. (Not available with Catalyst Edit, DaVinci Resolve, FCPX, Flame, Smoke, Hitfilm, Media Composer, Motion, Movie Studio, Nucoda, Nuke, Premiere Pro, Scratch, Silhouette, Vegas Pro)

RE:Match Pro

RE:Match Pro has all of the features of the RE:Match regular version and then adds the following features:

 • Auto image registration – Matching for stereo pairs takes advantage of internal per-pixel registration using optical flow methods.
 • Occlusions – Stereo pair matching takes into account occlusions between the two views.
 • Frame edge differences – Stereo pair matching takes into account that the two images may not have corresponding details at some of the edges of the frame. (Not available with Scratch)
 • Refine within matte – Stereo matching has controls for making details, such as reflections, lens flares and specular highlights match between the two views. Methods provided to remove or attenuate on-lens artifacts (such as water drops on a lens).
 • No stereo alignment required – You can use at any point of your pipeline. Because RE:Match uses internal pixel registration, stereo matching does not require image alignment prior to use. Visualization modes are provided to guide what RE: Match is doing internally.

Twixtor Pro

Twixtor Pro has all of the features of the Twixtor regular version, plus adds these features:

 • Object Separation – Support for foreground and background separation using a specified matte. Twixtor then tracks each layer separately for improved results. (Not available for Catalyst Edit, Hitfilm, Movie Studio, Natron, Nucoda, Vegas Pro)
 • RGB+A Tracking – An option that uses the alpha channel to help to track of dark images with mattes. This is especially useful for CG, masked and/or keyed material. (Not available for Smoke, Flame)
 • Track Point Guidance – Up to 12 user-defined points can be specified to help guide Twixtor’s motion estimation. By using the tracking points you can explicitly tell Twixtor where a pixel moves from one frame to the next in order to guide Twixtor’s calculation of motion vectors. (Not available for Catalyst Edit, Hitfilm, Movie Studio, Natron, Nucoda, Vegas Pro
 • Spline Guidance – When Twixtor exhibits tracking problems, you can guide Twixtor by simply creating and animating shapes to show Twixtor where objects are actually moving. Interactive feature registration is directed by using the host program’s splines. (Not available with Catalyst Edit, Hitfilm, Movie Studio, Natron, Nucoda, Vegas Pro, FCPX, Nuke, Premiere Pro, Scratch)
 • Motion Vector Import – Give Twixtor motion vectors generated elsewhere (like from a 3D system) to time remap footage, including adding motion-interpolated fields to otherwise progressive material. (Not available with Catalyst Edit, Hitfilm, Movie Studio, Natron, Nucoda, Vegas Pro, FCPX)
 • Motion Vectors Export – Ability to output the motion vectors that Twixtor generates internally. This powerful feature comes with visual debugging modes to more intuitively assess and tune the quality of the motion estimation. The motion vectors can then be used elsewhere in the pipeline. (Not available with Catalyst Edit, Hitfilm, Movie Studio, Natron, Nucoda, Vegas Pro, FCPX)
