The Perfect Channel Strip. Now Expanded with New Features.
Designed with Grammy-winning mixer Andrew Scheps (Metallica, Jay Z, Adele, Low Roar), Scheps Omni Channel 2 combines the efficient design and cohesive sound of classic analog channel strips, with the diverse sonic color and flexible sound-shaping possibilities available only in digital.
Scheps Omni gives you Andrew’s time-tested combinations of compression, EQ, and saturation tones. Now you can mix and match four preamp saturation colors, four types of compression, and flexible EQ, de-essing, gating options—all combining to deliver a cohesive analog channel strip sound, thanks to Andrew’s careful design.
The new version of the plugin, Scheps Omni Channel 2, expands the palette into new sonic territories. The new features include: CRUSH, a fourth saturation flavor for aggressive distortion. SOFT, a new soft-knee compressor, in addition to the Omni’s VCA, FET, and OPT. A new 24dB-per-octave filter with serious resonance, perfect for creative effects such as filter sweeps. Plus, the ability to host absolutely any VST3 plugin, by any manufacturer, in the Omni’s insert point, in order to add any effect to the Omni signal flow.
“The original Omni plugin was my dream for a plugin. Everything I like to use in every mix—in one window. Now, after using the plugin for several years as my main mixing tool, I wanted to add even more options that I use on a regular basis. We’ve now expanded the plugin, to really push the envelope on what you can do with it.”—Andrew Scheps
NEW in Scheps Omni Channel 2
Scheps Omni 2 is now more versatile than ever, with exciting new features added: CRUSH, a new preamp saturation flavor that can be driven to aggressive distortion. SOFT, a new soft-knee compressor, in addition to the Omni’s VCA, FET, and OPT. A new 24dB-per-octave filter with serious resonance, great for creative effects. Plus the ability to add VST3 plugins by any brand in the Omni’s insert point.
The Preamp: Superior Signal Shaping
Add color with 4 harmonic saturation options: ODD, EVEN, HEAVY, and the newly added CRUSH for serious distortion. Variable high and lowpass filters let you tailor your frequency response—with slopes up to 24dB-per-octave for radical sound design effects. The “thump” option provides a gentle low-end resonance to lift bass or kick in the mix.
Unequalled Equalization
Omni Channel re-invents EQ, with “mid” and “tone” parametric stages that serve different purposes in a mix (focused and wider, respectively)—along with two traditional parametric/shelving EQs.
Dynamic Dual De-Essing
The DS2 module has two independent de-essers that control dynamics at any frequency, with adjustable bandwidth and shape. They’re not just about vocals—tame harsh amp sims, remove buzz from synths, and more.
4 Classic Compression Flavors
The Compressor section offers four classic compression types: The slow, smooth OPT; fast and transparent VCA; FET, which splits the difference between the two; and the newly added SOFT, a soft-knee compressor. Whether you’re clamping down hard on overheads, smoothing out vocals, or sustaining guitars—now you can easily choose the exact compression flavor of your choice.
Golden Gate
Whether used as a gate or linear expander, this module offers unprecedented creative options thanks to sidechaining, filtering, MIDI learn, and comprehensive routings for stereo or mid-side processing.
Focus on What’s Important with FOCUS Presets
To help you focus on the most important controls that will make a real difference to your mix, Andrew created a set of “FOCUS” presets. Dedicated to vocals, drums, bass, and other sources, these presets not only give you a great starting point—they also visually highlight the key controls you may want to tweak in order to fine-tune your sound.
Scheps Omni Channel 2 adds new FOCUS presets, covering the newly added CRUSH, SOFT, and 24dB Filter features.

Activate your creativity with over 250 presets from world-class engineers and producers—Andrew Scheps, Jacquire King, Tony Visconti, Tony Maserati, Steve Lillywhite, Frank Filipetti, Billy Bush, Dave Darlington, and many more.

Waves’ latest version works on newer sub-versions of these DAWs, unless stated otherwise.
Waves plugins comply with the major audio plugin formats (VST3, AU, AAX).
If your DAW is not listed below, but supports VST3, AU or AAX, it should work fine with our software.
Your DAW must be running on an operating system that supports it in order for plugins to work properly. To confirm that your DAW version is supported on your operating system, please refer to your DAW’s website.
Exceptions & Notes:
General:
- These specs are for software version 15.
- V15 supports 64-bit only.
- In hosts that support both VST and VST3 plugins, we highly recommend using only VST3 plugins in new sessions from now on, and migrating plugins in old sessions to VST3.
- With the release of Waves V13 plugins, we announce full official Apple Silicon support for host applications that are themselves Apple Silicon-compatible. We will work to provide official ARM support for more host applications as they become Silicon-compatible. We will update this page with new developments as they are available.
- MIDI Support: The following hosts do not offer MIDI support: Pyramix, Premiere, Audition and OBS.
- MIDI Learn:
Not supported in the following plugins: Scheps Omni Channel 2, MultiMod Rack, CLA MixHub, Abbey Road TG Mastering Chain.
Native Instrument hosts: MIDI learn is not supported in effect plugins if they’re inserted after a virtual instrument plugin in Maschine and Komplete Kontrol.
Logic Pro, MainStage, Digital Performer, Luna: Only certain plugins support MIDI learn. Click here for a full list.
GarageBand: MIDI Learn is supported only with Waves Virtual Instrument plugins. - Mono to Stereo components are not supported in Cakewalk by BandLab, GarageBand and Luna.
- Sidechaining is supported on the following hosts: Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Nuendo, Cubase, Cakewalk by BandLab, Audition, Ableton Live, FL Studio, REAPER, Bitwig Studio, Samplitude, Sequoia and Studio One.
- Demo Mode: Audio mutes are not synced between plug-ins running in Demo Mode, when tracks are set to Input Monitoring and the transport is stopped.
- Surround plugins are supported on the following hosts: Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Digital Performer, Nuendo, Cubase, Audition, Premiere, REAPER, Pyramix and DaVinci Resolve.
- Drag and Drop support: ‘Drag and Drop' of samples and audio files in to CR8 Creative Sampler is possible only on DAWs that support this feature: Ableton Live, Cubase, Nuendo and Studio One.
- GarageBand: The Preset Browser is not available on Intel Mac computers.
- Adobe Premiere on Apple Silicon Macs: While loading plugins / changing parameters, you may experience a slow graphic refresh rate.
- Maschine/ Komplete Kontrol: The following plugins will not function correctly when loaded as VST3 plugins: API-2500, C1 Compressor, dbx160 Compressor / Limiter, H-Comp Hybrid Compressor, Renaissance Compressor, SSL G-Master Bus Compressor, V-Comp. Maschine 2.17.2 and Komplete Kontrol 2.9.2 include a fix for this issue.
- FL Studio: FL Studio 21.1.1.3318 may produce graphics issues on Mac computers with Intel processors.
Solution: Update FL Studio to the latest version (21.0.3.3352 or later). - DaVinci Resolve: Tempo Sync is not supported.
