Total Voice Transformation
Transform your vocals with the next-generation voice-controlled synth and vocal effects processor. Create a limitless palette of vocal morphing, tuning, harmonizing, vocoder, talkbox effects and beyond.
Your voice is an amazing instrument—now, OVox turns it into a production playground. Chord generation, vocoding, talkbox, tune/pitch effects, arpeggiation, and countless vocal synthesis effects can all be part of your vocal production palette. Send your vocal to MIDI, trigger instruments with your voice—or even go beyond voice to synthesize drums, bass and more.
Choose from 500 presets for an amazing array of cutting-edge, ready-to-go vocal effects. Or dive deep into the expanded view—and enter a vocal production paradise.
Morph Vocals with Full Expressiveness
Ovox extracts your voice’s pitch, amplitude, and formant, then allows you to transform all three elements independently. It’s like taking your voice apart, then putting it back together—shaped exactly how you want. Powered by Waves Organic ReSynthesis® (ORS) technology, OVox morphs your voice cleanly, without artifacts, and with the full expressiveness of the original vocal.
Trigger Chords and Scales with OVox’s Note Mapper
Use your voice (or a recorded vocal track) to trigger automatic chords, harmonies, or scales. OVox’s automatic note mapper will set the root note, harmonies, scales, and chords. Edit the mapper to exclude notes you don’t want played, constrain notes to a single octave, or play over the full note range.
500 Powerful Presets by Top Producers
Discover OVox’s versatility with 500 creative factory and artist presets—including presets from the producers for Bon Iver, Frank Ocean, Beyoncé, and many more. Use the presets as is for endless inspiration, or tweak to create your own signature sounds.
Play Any Virtual Instrument Using Your Voice via OVox’s MIDI Out
OVox’s Midi Out feature lets you play any VI (by Waves or other manufacturers) using your voice, in real time. Sing and hum a melody, and OVox will convert your to MIDI, and send the MIDI out to your instrument of choice. You can also use the note mapper to quantize your MIDI to scale, or generate hundreds of chord progressions easily.
Expanded Interface for Unlimited Voice Manipulation
OVox’s compact view gives you quick, easy access to the most important parameters. Expand the interface, and you’ll open up a world of sound editing, with unlimited options for synthesis, formant and harmonic modification, filtering, modulation, and effects.
Easy Drag-and-Drop Modulation
Modulate any sound easily by dragging-and-dropping any modulator from OVox’s versatile modulation section onto any OVox control: 4 LFOs (waveforms or step-sequenced), 2 ADSR envelopes, and envelopes for Amplitude, Pitch, or Formant.
Versatile Built-in Effects
Add Autopan, Chorus, Compression, Delay, Distortion, and Reverb to any sound, from the menu of high-quality built-in effects. The bottom section of OVox also adds a fully modulatable 4-band EQ, in addition to the modulators and the effects.

Waves’ latest version works on newer sub-versions of these DAWs, unless stated otherwise.
Waves plugins comply with the major audio plugin formats (VST3, AU, AAX).
If your DAW is not listed below, but supports VST3, AU or AAX, it should work fine with our software.
Your DAW must be running on an operating system that supports it in order for plugins to work properly. To confirm that your DAW version is supported on your operating system, please refer to your DAW’s website.
Exceptions & Notes:
General:
- These specs are for software version 15.
- V15 supports 64-bit only.
- In hosts that support both VST and VST3 plugins, we highly recommend using only VST3 plugins in new sessions from now on, and migrating plugins in old sessions to VST3.
- With the release of Waves V13 plugins, we announce full official Apple Silicon support for host applications that are themselves Apple Silicon-compatible. We will work to provide official ARM support for more host applications as they become Silicon-compatible. We will update this page with new developments as they are available.
- MIDI Support: The following hosts do not offer MIDI support: Pyramix, Premiere, Audition and OBS.
- MIDI Learn:
Not supported in the following plugins: Scheps Omni Channel 2, MultiMod Rack, CLA MixHub, Abbey Road TG Mastering Chain.

- Surround plugins are supported on the following hosts: Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Digital Performer, Nuendo, Cubase, Audition, Premiere, REAPER, Pyramix and DaVinci Resolve.
- Drag and Drop support: ‘Drag and Drop' of samples and audio files in to CR8 Creative Sampler is possible only on DAWs that support this feature: Ableton Live, Cubase, Nuendo and Studio One.
- GarageBand: The Preset Browser is not available on Intel Mac computers.
- Adobe Premiere on Apple Silicon Macs: While loading plugins / changing parameters, you may experience a slow graphic refresh rate.
- Maschine/ Komplete Kontrol: The following plugins will not function correctly when loaded as VST3 plugins: API-2500, C1 Compressor, dbx160 Compressor / Limiter, H-Comp Hybrid Compressor, Renaissance Compressor, SSL G-Master Bus Compressor, V-Comp.
