A flexible multi-band dynamics processor
The McDSP 6034 Ultimate Multi-band is a flexible multi-band dynamics processor. It offers all the award-winning compression, expansion, and gating modules from the highly acclaimed 6050 Ultimate Channel Strip plug-in, in a four-band crossover network.
Just like the 6050 modules, the 6034 Ultimate Multi-band modules can be swapped on the fly for quick auditioning while retaining relative settings. The crossover filter slopes can be configured as 6, 12, or 24 dB/Oct. Metering includes gain reduction and output levels on all crossover bands, as well as main input and output levels.
Multi-band Expansion
Using the FRGX module, each band can apply downward or upward expansion. The downwards expansion can reduce some room tone, or just bring a different dynamic (pun intended) to the band. Upward expansion can allow a given band to jump out a bit more in the mix, but only when strong signal levels are not present.
Drums
Get the kick drum on the lowest band, mix up the snare and toms with the two middle bands, and deal with cymbals in the highest band. There are certainly other ways to combine drum kit elements using a four-band crossover like the one in the 6034, and experimentation is encouraged.
Vocals
The 6034 has the unique ability to let the user swap (on the fly!) a wide variety of compression and expansion modules in search of the perfect sound. The various slopes available from the crossover filters (6, 12, and 24 dB/Oct) can also be useful in locating just the right crossover points when mixing the vocal.

Note as of v7.0, VST is no longer supported. VST versions of v6 McDSP plug-ins will no longer be updated, and will be uninstalled. |
| McDSP Native plug-ins support AAX Native, AU, and VST3 plug-in formats. McDSP HD plug-ins additionally support the AAX DSP plug-in format, as well as AAX Native, AU, and VST3 plug-in formats. McDSP plug-ins support Mac OS 10.13.x (High Sierra), 10.14.x (Mojave), 10.15.x (Catalina), 11.x (Big Sur), 12.x (Monterey), 13.x (Ventura), 14.x (Sonoma), and Windows 10 & 11. Mac OS version 10.12.x (Sierra) may work, but is not officially supported. Earlier Mac OS versions are not officially supported. |

What’s new in V7.2 (December 2022)?
The latest v7 release from McDSP now includes support for both Intel and Apple silicon processors for the entire McDSP AAX plug-in product line. McDSP AAX plug-ins are universal binaries, and will run natively on either Apple hardware platform, once Pro Tools Apple silicon support is available.
