Zoetrope Z COLR is perfect for title backgrounds, slides, color compositing elements, and even lighting effects. Now available for Adobe Premiere & After Effects, as well as FCPX and Apple Motion. Zoetrope has partnered with the FxFactory platform to bring you multi-application support.

Z Breath

Z Breath is a two channel gradient, similar to a vignette. The inner color ‘breathes’ by expanding and contracting over time. At slow speed it is a subtle effect, more dynamic than a still.  At fast speeds, it approaches a flicker, which can be used to simulate film projection or other lighting effects.  The inner color shape is freely resizable, so that you can create asymmetric compositions. A preset system allows you to explore our factory settings, but also create and save your own looks.

Z Bars

Z Bars is a meditation on color. Inspired by the myriad of possibilities and relationships within the chroma universe, it begins with five color selections that you control. We include dozens of presets of well known color palettes, but you are free to create and save your own.  You can use color resources such as Adobe Kuler® with the integrated color picker to dream up fantastic combinations.  Once selected, your color choices are expressed as vertical bars, meandering across the screen at various ratios, sizes and relationships. Z Bars is a bold design statement for any project.

Z CMYK

Z CMYK takes the classic CMYK filter to the extreme.  It begins with the same color gradient sources common to our other generators, so you have total control over the source coloration. The CMYK filter is then applied with discreet oscillators modulating key parameters over time. You control the speed and oscillator type of the animation. Of course you can also keyframe any of the parameters. A preset system allows you to explore our factory settings, but also create and save your own looks. Z CMYK brings you dynamic comic-style POP to your compositions

Z Fields

Z Color Fields is a soft, oscillating, five color gradient on the vertical or horizontal axis. Using the same color engine as Z Bars, you select your colors, and adjust the oscillation and color mix over time. Use our presets as a starting point, or create and save your own combinations.   It can be used for interesting compositing effects, in the same spirit as a gradient glass camera filters. Z Color Fields is deceptively simple, but in fact, a very powerful color instrument.
